Horizontal Mini Blinds
Horizontal mini blinds resemble other window coverings like shades and blinds. However, this type of blind also provides an exquisite and soft look that is appealing to rooms in your house.
The horizontal mini blind has all the softness of the cellular shade, but also has the simplicity of the roller shade. This is a great functioning window blind that not only will add beauty to your window and room, but has a very good performance ratio.
This type of blind was created and put out into the public in 1991 by Hunter Douglas. He did this under the Silhouette company. Once they came out on the market, they were considered to be one of the fastest growing window coverings that were out on the market.
The horizontal mini blind is made of 2-inch horizontal fabric vanes. These vanes are floating between two layers of fabric that looks very soft. This is a knitted sheer. The purpose for the design like this is that it allows diffused light to enter the room when they are opened and yet can provide full privacy when they are closed.
The fabric that these blinds are made up of actually blocks out 98% of the damaging UV rays from the sun. You can purchase a darkening shade in a horizontal mini blind that can take away a fair amount of light. However, you may want to think about the honeycomb shades as they are better for darkening a room than just the regular horizontal mini blinds.
The price of this type of mini blind is moderate. There are cheaper ones on the market, but it isn't over pricey either. They do however, provide minimal darkness to your room. They aren't as good as other brands for insulating a window and only provide some kid proof quality. The one down point of the horizontal mini blind is that this is not an easy blind for cleaning purposes.
